PITA BREAD

Pita Bread is the most elemental of foods of the Lebanese cuisine. It is one of the staple foods of the entire Arab world. It is so universal and accommodating that Pita bread may be eaten in so many ways with so many kinds of other dishes. It is a simple recipe yet the Pita bread packs tremendous generic power. Only 4 ingredients! White flour, water, yeast and salt. The Pita bread may be used to eat in accompaniment with any sorts of cooked meat, eggs, grilled tomatoes, salad, and mushroom dishes. It may be spread with jam, marmalade, kaya, and all other assortments of cheese and toppings. In El-Sheikh restaurant for example, you may eat dips such as Hummus with grilled Pita bread or you may scoop bits of it in the sauce of your main course. Pita Bread has no preservatives, colorings, or oil added because it is naturally Lebanese.

El-Sheikh restaurant has an auxiliary establishment, Al-Wadi Bakeries Co. Pte. Ltd. which serves to make Pita Bread fresh daily. El-Sheikh gets its daily supplies of Pita Bread from Al-Wadi Bakeries. And so do many other establishments such as Mustafa Centre, International Canadian schools and many other Arabic restaurants.
